December Rewind

Uncle Chad and Cousin Matthew were in town the first weekend of December. So cute to see these boys grow up.

Kelsey and Evan have some reading time together.  This was from Dec. 10th.

Decorating the Tree

I'm going to play "catch-up" on pictures. Mark and I finally figured out a way for me to blog quicker on my wonderful Google Chrome laptop so hopefully this will help, so enjoy the months in review and I'll keep on top of things in the New Year, fingers crossed.
Here is Kelsey putting on the first ornament of our Christmas tree on Dec. 12th. We put on some ornaments that night and then stopped, luckily for us since the tree ended up falling down a few nights later. The children were in bed and no ornaments were broken so it was all good.  We now have sandbags keeping our tree upright. Doesn't everyone?
On Dec. 20th Madded, Evan's godbrother, was in town with his parents coming back from California with his mom. We love living where we do because everyone stops to see us when they are flying.  The kids exchanged gifts and we got a few pictures of them. Don't you just love Madden's hat?

The next weekend we put on our star. We had to make sure the tree wouldn't fall again. :-)  Great job Kelsey!!! Next year it's Evan's turn.

Christmas Eve

Kelsey was in the children's Christmas program on Christmas Eve as an angel.  She sings in the Cherub Choir at our church, which is about 10 kids who range in ages 3 - 6.  I'm not sure the video works to hear the song, but you can possibly see Kelsey in her angel costume, no other pictures were taken of her in it.  Evan passed the time by playing "drop the book" with the lady sitting behind us.
Before bed PopPop read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and Kelsey put out the cookies and milk.  Thanks Aunt Tammie for the Christmas jammies!

Christmas!!!

First of all, can you believe this was last year???  What a difference a year makes.
This year we had Christmas at our house.  Kelsey was super excited to see what Santa was going to bring her.  The good news is she was more excited about the Anna and Elsa Barbie dolls she got Christmas Eve from our friends the Shaeffers that she stayed in her room until 7:45 am and only came out because Anna needed her braid fixed.  Mark and I were up around 6:45 waiting for her to come running out of her room to open presents.  The kids opened their Santa gifts first and played with them a long while, ate breakfast and then got started opening more presents.  The whole day was filled with family (grandparents and my godmother Jari) presents and playing.  We are truly blessed and appreciate everything from everyone.  Can't wait to do Christmas round two with North Carolina next weekend.

Evan got a rocking horse from Santa and was working on opening his play camera.

Santa brought the vanity and Anna and Elsa Magiclip dolls while NanNan got Kelsey the new outfit. So excited that the skirt is sewn onto the pants.

My Little Pony from Grandma and an Anna wig from NanNan. What can I say I miss my long hair. :-)

Evan Time

Evan and I are having quality playtime this morning while sick Kelsey, day 3 of high fever, and daddy, who was up with her, sleep. This has been a homebound vacation with me having a bad cold all last week and Kelsey getting this fever, praying Evan and Mark don't get sick.

Both Kelsey and Mark enjoyed their time at the party and visiting with the three Shereikas!

Grandma's Birthday Dinner

We went out to Red Robin for grandma's birthday tonight. Kelsey was super surprised when Santa came by the table. She got to tell him what she wanted for Christmas and he posed for a picture. Evan got to eat Puffs for the first time and did pretty well putting them in his mouth.

Welcome Owen Russell

Meghan and Dan are excited to welcome Owen Russell at 6 lbs 2 oz and 19 in. He was delivered via c- section at 9:43 am at 37 weeks. Meghan delivered early due to medical concerns. Both baby and mommy are doing very well along with daddy. I am thrilled to be at the hospital spending time with the new Shereika.

Real Peas

Evan tried real whole peas at dinner tonight. He chewed then very well, but didn't put them in his mouth by himself. I was thrilled to not have to purée them.

Kelsey's Dance "Recital"

Kelsey's been going to a dance class through Parks and Rec.  Monday was her last class for this 6-week session and the parents were invited into the class the last 10 minutes or so to see what they have done.  We decided to try this class to see if she really likes dance and then see if she does something more with it.  See what you think. :-)

Evan's First Teeth

After months and months of drooling and chewing it has finally happened. Evan's first teeth broke through.  Both of his bottom two teeth have started to surface.  Looking at him the one of the left is a little higher than the one on the right.  This might be why he has had a lot poopy diapers.  We're not sure if his fever and hives have anything to do with it, but it's not helping that it's all happening at the same time.  Or maybe it is that he's just miserable all at one time.  His fever seems to be staying low and the hives are not as prominent.  We're still not sure of the cause, but it's definitely weird to see hives appear and then disappear all over his body.
