Dan's 40th Birthday

On September 13th we got to celebrate Dan's 40th birthday.  Meghan had an Iron Maiden, rock band, cake made especially for him.  Kelsey enjoyed giving him his gift of an Oriole's bottle and bib set and Meghan gave Evan a new Taggie blanket, which he loves!  We also got to see our friend Christina who helped with Evan. A great time was had by all!!  Happy Birthday goddaddy Dan!

Great Grandma 1917 - 2014

97 years....97 years of 4 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a lifetime of memories.  97 years and one month is how old my grandma was when she passed away on Thursday, September 25th.  We were all so blessed to have her for so long.  She lived for our family reunion in August where she got to see the family and meet Evan.  So many memories will live on with all of us.  I grew up seeing her every summer, except 2 that I know of, and she would come visit us in the fall/winter.  Her last trip to the East coast was our wedding 8 years.  Melissa and I will cherish chocolate chip cookies and pass on that tradition with our own kids.  We know Grandma is up in heaven reuniting with Grandpa Ed who passed away 32 years ago, her 4 brothers, and daughter Kathy.  Love you Grandma and will miss you!

Peas Please!

Today Evan tried peas for the first time.  He ate them pretty well.  Kelsey even got in the action and fed him. She even held on to the spoon the whole time.  Let's hope the extra formula and real food will help bulk Evan up!
Evan loves the bumbo, yet I think he's getting too active for it since he rolled himself out today to reach toys.

6 months!

Evan turned 6 months and is one happy boy.  Even though he is happy, he is not gaining the weight that he should.  We have upped his ounces of milk/formula and will add more foods to his diet.  Mark will take Evan in a month and hopefully he will have gained the weight he needs to.  On a positive note he is in the 50th percentile in length being 26.4 inches.  He's a cutie all in all!

Visiting PopPop

While NanNan is in Florida we came up to PA for a baby shower and some Pop Pop time. Kelsey was excited to play with their toys and the play house. Tea was served and I got some quality hammock time, with and without children. The weather was nice and we enjoyed our visit, but missed NanNan.

High School Friends

Our friends, Lauren and Chris, are moving to Colorado with their two kids Jack and Sylvia.  Before they leave I wanted to get together a few high school friends.  We had a cook out lunch on Sunday, August 30th, and had a good time catching up.  It was hard to say good-bye to the Farleys, but I know we'll see them again especially since we have family out in Colorado.

The four us below all went to Central High School and were really good friends. I'm so glad we've reunited and got to catch up.

Lauren and I met on the first day of freshman year.  We had all of our classes together except one or two.  I was taking Spanish 1 and German 1 and she took Spanish 437, maybe it was Spanish 3, since it seemed she knew a lot.  We had our ups and downs and never stopped being friends after 15 years.  Our friendship has blossomed over the years and love that our kids have gotten along and play together.  We can't wait to go visit their new home in Colorado!!!

1st Day of Preschool

Today Kelsey went to her first day of preschool.  It's right around the corner, which is great for Grandpa to only have a 5 minute drive to get her there and pick her up.  She was very excited and said, "I had a great time."  Snack and recess were her favorite things of the day.  She'll go back on Thursday and hopefully it'll go as well as today.

Oh yea, and as a special treat Grandpa took the kids to Dairy Queen for ice cream.  Probably the fact that our air conditioner broke this morning on the hottest day of the year and was 87 on our first floor by 1 pm helped make that decision. Luckily, we found someone to come out and fix it this evening and we are all good.

What will Evan do while Kelsey is away????

Thanks Granpa!!!
