Sadly our friends the Farleys are moving to Colorado. They decided not to take everything with them so Evan has a few new things including this jumper thing. I'm sure his feet will reach soon.

Christmas in July
On July 12th we went to the annual party Christmas in July hosted by our friends Katie and Tim. Kelsey was not with us due to going back up to Camp Newburg with Grace one last time. Evan got to meet Santa for the first time and go swimming in the pool. Jackie, Katie, and Teresa all had their time with Evan.
Recognize Kelsey at her first Christmas in July? They are definitely siblings!

4 Months
Kelsey and Grace Week
Grace stayed with us for our church's VBS week July 6th - 11th. This was her third year doing this and the girls had a lot of fun. They played with princess dresses and went to the VBS carnival and had their faces painted. On the last night together they gave hugs. Kelsey misses Grace so much and enjoyed her time with her cousin. Thanks Grace for being a wonderful influence on Kelsey!

Kehayias Visit
On July 6th a friend of mine from high school came to DC to sight-see with his kids, Charlotte and Michael. Meghan and Dan came over for dinner as well so we could catch up with Jonathan who now lives in Florida. The kids played very well together while we talked. The best part of the night was when Charlotte and Michael got to see fireflies for the first time. Apparently they don't have them in Florida. Wish I had video of how excited they were, but I don't. :-( Hopefully they will come visit again.
Faces of Evan
While Kelsey was gone at Camp Newburg I had lots of quality time with Evan where some pictures were taken. These were from June 26th and July 1st, a month ago. He is changing so much so fast and I want to make sure there are as many pictures of Evan as there are of Kelsey when she was little. Just something I've noticed from being the 2nd born child. :-) Enjoy!

Evan's First Time in the Pool
On July 3rd we were up in Newburg and got to go swimming with Evan for the first time. He did a great job and didn't get upset. The girls had been swimming everyday practically and are very comfortable in the water. We're super proud of how well Kelsey is swimming. Watching Grace really helped her confidence.

Picnic Lunch
After visiting the library this morning we came home and had a picnic lunch since the weather is pleasant to be outside.

4 Month Check-Up
Today Kelsey and I took Evan to his dr visit. He was a champ for his shots and charmed the doctor. Kelsey was good eating her snacks and coloring. Just as we thought, Evan is below in weight. He is 12.07 lbs and 25 inches. His percentile fell from 20th to 7th so we need to supplement with formula, which we were already starting to do. This hopefully will help him sleep through the night better as well, fingers crossed. :)

Holding the Bottle
Mark's goal is to get the kids to do things on their own. Evan started holding his own bottle on June 24th. Next up getting the bottle out of the fridge by himself. :-)

Busy Day of Firsts
Evan did a lot of firsts on July 8th.
1. He feel asleep by himself on the floor in the basement for over an hour. If you don't already know, Evan has a hard time sleeping by himself. He likes to be held to sleep for naps. At bedtime he's fine in the crib, just wish it was for a longer time but that will come later. So, when he feel asleep like this on the floor it was HUGE! Good job Grandpa!
2. He turned over for the first time at Grandma and Grandpa's house on the same playmat looking at the same toys Kelsey did when she turned over for the first time. She did it at 5 and 1/2 months so I thought I might have some more time on hands before he was moving....nope!
3. Uncle George came from Colorado and we got to meet up with him for dinner. Evan snuggled up with him and slept. Thanks Uncle George!
These pictures have nothing to do with Evan's firsts, but it was neat to see Grace and Kelsey playing with toys Melissa and I had growing up.
