Opening Day

In honor of Opening Day for baseball I am posting these pictures of Evan with an awesome present that was given to him from a high school baseball buddy of Mark's.  Thanks AJ, Tracey, and baby Anthony for the bat.  It is truly special!

Now I have to go looking for Phillies gear for Evan.  I'm not sure we have boy stuff for that...hmm.....
Go Phillies!!!!

North Carolina Visits

On March 22nd our family from North Carolina got to come up and visit. The cousins had a great time playing together.  Nathan is excited to have a boy cousin and enjoyed holding Evan.  We got to celebrate Kristen's 2nd birthday, March 28th, since we won't be with them at that time.  Uncle Shawn got quality time with Evan by taking a nap watching basketball.  We appreciated them coming up and spending time with us!

Friends Visit and First Bath

Of course I had a blogpost made up, but my old computer deleted it before I could post it.  I'm now working on my new computer and hoping this works easier.

Evan is three weeks today and is fussy at times with some spit-up problems and we are all trying to get used to the inconsistent sleep patterns at night.  All-in-all we are doing alright and very blessed.

On March 15th we had visitors come by: Shereikas and Kobrins.  On Sunday, March 16th we gave Evan his first bath. Kelsey helped by holding his hand and trying to calm him down, but then she got upset with all of the crying.  That evening friends from church brought dinner and enjoyed Evan time. They are expecting a baby early April.  Zeke, 3, will be a great big brother and was getting some baby practice with Kelsey by holding Evan.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It wouldn't be a holiday around here if it didn't snow.  It snowed on Valentine's Day and we were off of school and of course it snowed last night into today for there to be no school again.  Not that it mattered to me since I'm home.  No pictures of Evan with his first snow, but we did get St. Paddy's Day pictures with new clothes from my friend Kate.  On Friday, March 14th my friends from school, Kate, Sarah, and Dave came over to meet Evan and brought new clothes for the little one and Kelsey.  Enjoy!

Below is our friend Dave when he held Kelsey, left, and now Evan, right.  He's not a fan of holding babies, but we seem to get him to do it.

Above: Sarah multitasking with the kids.  I think she's ready to have her own or babysit ours. :)

Visitors at the Hospital

All of the Grandparents got to be at the hospital along with my best friend Meghan, thanks to having him on a Sunday. :-) Kelsey finally held him on Monday and our friends the Shaeffers came by Tuesday night after we got home and settled.

It's a BOY!!!

On Saturday, March 8th I started feeling contractions throughout the day and they got closer together as the evening went along.  After 2 hours of 3 -5 minutes apart I called the doctor on call and they told me to come in.  Here we are as a family of 3, 4 if you count Ella, before we left.

We said good night to Kelsey and off we went to the hospital.  NanNan and PopPop were in town for the weekend hoping a baby would come....
I progressed along after Mark and I walked around and around the labor and delivery floor so they said they would admit me.  I got monitored all night long while we got a little sleep, but I didn't progress at all.  Unfortunately and luckily my blood pressure decided to rise so they said they would induce me.  Things finally started to progress and at 3:37 pm we had our very own baby boy, Evan Daniel!  He was 8 lbs 3 oz, 20 inches long.

Below was our Nurse, Phylis, who was AMAZING and Dr. Keith who delivered.

Kelsey was the first one to come and meet her little brother Evan.  Below is the video of her meeting him.  She then announced that it was a boy and the name to the Grandparents when they came in.

40 weeks

Today is our due date and still no baby.  Kelsey has been waiting every day to see if Mommy and Daddy will go to the hospital. NanNan came down Tuesday, March 4th to be with us until the baby comes.  No one knew it would take all week.   At this moment, if the baby doesn't come we are scheduled to be induced at 5 am on Tuesday, March 11th.  Hopefully, this baby comes on its own before then.
