Baby Hazel

On August 8th we were blessed with the birth of our Niece Hazel Rose.  We weren't there when she was born, since we were out in Nebraska celebrating my Grandma's 95th (pictures to come), but we flew there from Nebraska to spend the next week with the family.  Kelsey and Grace had a great time playing together while we relaxed and enjoyed Baby Hazel.

Gotta love having waffles for breakfast together.

A Visit from The Risners (3 days worth)

Our friends Kristen and Dustyn along with the their two kids Owen (2) and Kaitlyn (4) came down from Erie, PA to visit from July 22 - 26th.  We had lots of fun catching up and sight seeing together.  Kelsey had a great time playing and learning new things from Kaitlyn and Owen.

On Monday, July 23rd, we went to the Air and Space Museum

Then we walked across The Mall to the Natural History Museum.  On The National Mall were the Aids Quilts which were amazing to see.

On Tuesday July 24th I took Kelsey to her 18th month appt. She is 24 lbs and 33 " tall.  That makes her in the 55% for weight and 90% for height.  She just went through a growth spurt, so that's where the height comes in.  We measured her at home and it was a little shorter, so who knows exactly.
That afternoon we went to the Baltimore Aquarium.  A little pricey, but alot of fun.  Kelsey is still talking about the dolphins swimming and jumping.

On Wed, July 25th we went to the Baltimore Zoo.  Grandpa joined us to be our tour guide since he has a membership for a day of fun! Kelsey is wearing her new giraffe dress from Kristen, and Kaitlyn also had a giraffe on her shirt.

What a wonderful visit!   Thanks Risners!  Come again!!!  Who's next to visit and go sightseeing?

New Toys

While Daddy was away visiting his recooperating brother and very pregnant sister-in-law, Kelsey and I had a playdate with Dean and Lily and then went shopping at a wonderful kids consignment store in Mt. Airy.  Unfortunately the store is 45 min. away, but don't worry, we'll be back.  I found a baby changing station, a Weeble Wooble barn, and some shoes.  She has had a good time playing with everything.  I might have also found a "Little People" Castle that has also been a hit.  Thanks Aunt Melissa for encouraging me to go to consignment stores.  Mark thinks I need to stop going for a while. :-)
