Babysitter in Training

Emily, 9, came over the other morning to play since her mom was out of town and sister and dad had to work.  Kelsey loves watching other kids and was thrilled to have Emily over.  Emily is wonderful to have around and we know she'll make a great babysitter in a few years. For those of you who were there, or saw pictures, Emily was our flowergirl when she was 4 years old!

Belated 8 Months!

One of these days I will get things together and blog pictures on time.  And by one of these days I mean June when school is out.  Here is Kelsey at 8 months.  She is loving to move around the room by army crawling, is saying her "B" and "P" sounds, not so much "momma" any more.  She is eating very well, but still small for her age.  We'll find out exact info at her 9 month dr. appt.  As of now she is still 3 months behind in clothes, so 3-6 are still fitting her and maybe by 9 months she'll move into 6-9.  She also LOVES reading books, and can do so all by herself, enjoy the video. :-)

Torn Between Teams

Kelsey is a Phillies fan for baseball and a Redskins fan for football, but what about college football?  Mark is a Penn State fan and I am a Husker fan, so we had to come to an agreement....Kelsey is both!  We have to have a wardrobe change during the day to make sure she wears both of her shirts to support the teams.  GO STATE.....GO HUSKERS!!!!

These are her favorite teething toys.  Grandpa got them for her and she loves taking her keys everywhere!

Watching Penn State with Daddy...TOUCHDOWN!!!!  We are working on getting her to raise her arms at the right time. :-)

This is a much better outfit.  Don't you think Red is her color?
Kelsey is crawling much faster now.  She lifts her head up alot more and is starting to get her butt in the air.  You definately have to keep an eye on her.

Happy Belated Labor Day

On Sept. 4th Scott and Joan helped us host a party for our friends in PA. Unfortunately, Kelsey hadn't been in NanNan and PopPop's pool with the weather being silly every time we were there. We did put her feet in the water, but she didn't like it because it was chilly. Our friends Sheryl and Dan came by with their little one Ben who is 6 weeks younger than Kelsey. It was so cute to see them playing together.

Aunt Karlee came out to hang out and Kelsey spent time with NanNan so Mommy could socialize.

Not a big fan of the cold water, but happy to sit by the side of the pool with Mommy.

The pool chairs are much more comfy than the side of the pool.  Cousins Keith and Melissa came by with their little ones.  Sarah is below while she was playing at the playhouse.

Playdate for Mommy

On September 1st I had a playdate with her teacher friends.  We had been out of school all week so I decided to have people over for lunch.  The power came back on that day and we were back at school on Friday the 2nd and then enjoyed a 3 day weekend for Labor Day.  Crazy way to start the new school year.  We also finally got a picture of Kelsey's two bottom teeth.  It's not the greatest picture of Kelsey, but you can at least see the teeth.  She is working on getting the top two, but who knows when they will finally appear.

Below are my friends from school all playing with Kelsey.  This was as much a playdate for her as for me.

Can you see the 2 teeth?  You would think Dave would've had plenty of time to sleep during his 6 day weekend.  That's his new wife Sarah holding Kelsey during her bottle.  We are happy to have her in Maryland!

Kelsey loves her toys and having books read to her.  We will ignore the Yankees shirt Dave is wearing.

Go Skins!!!

Kelsey is a Phillies fan for baseball, but a REDSKINS fan for football!  Mommy is super excited for the new season and to let Kelsey watch some football.  As you can see we are ready for the first game of the season.  Kelsey has started making an "old grumpy man" face lately.  It's too cute!  The bear was my Grandma Hall's, so we are thrilled to have that out during the season.  Also, take note that the onesie she is wearing is 12 month, and is way too big.  That won't stop mommy from putting her in it and the other one she has every week.

                                                                        GO SKINS!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen...

 The Beatles!

Thanks Aunt Melissa for listening to the fact that Daddy sings Kelsey Beatles Songs during night time routine and getting the shirt.

No love for Daddy...

Kelsey has become very attached to Mommy lately (I've read that this is normal, but it still seems a little unfair).  It may not have helped that Mommy hasn't been to work since LAST FRIDAY thanks to Hurricane Irene and a lack of power at school.  I'm not so thrilled that the video below is a common occurance.

I've only heard dada one time.  I'm sure soon enough she'll be chatting our ears off with conversation.

New (Penguin) Friend

So, when the family gets together in Nebraska the Aunts bring something for the little ones to play with or wear in the upcoming year. Last summer, when I was pregnant, my Aunt Karen brought me a penguin that is the size that Kelsey is now, or a little bigger. Kelsey loves it! You blow it up and then when you hit it it bobbles back into place. It also plays music and has a clown like laugh. Thanks GREAT Aunt Karen! It's Kelsey's new friend.
