First Piece of Mail

Thanks to Rex and Nancy (our brother-in-law, Shawn's, parents) for sending Kelsey her first piece of mail earlier this month.  The outfit is adorable.

CONGRATS!!!

Our friends, Whitey and Krista (who bought Kelsey one of our favorite newborn outfits) are getting MARRIED!!  We wish them all the best in their next adventure.

We'll be ready to give any advice for future steps in life but without any pressure.  We reserve the pressure for those that can give Kelsey another cousin.

First Playdate...

Our friends, Kristen and Greg, had a daughter, Lily, in October.  Kristen and Lily came over for Kelsey's first official playdate.  Kristen didn't allow Greg to come in the house because he wasn't feeling well.  Robin and I are sure it had nothing to do with the polar bear plunge he had participated in the day before.

Visitors at home, Part 1

Kelsey has had many friends stop in to meet her and say hi.  We're so happy to have them come by.  Here are a few of the first guests at home:

Visitors at the hospital

We were happy to have guests stop by the hospital to visit while we were getting used to this whole parenting thing.

Wait a second, he's not a visitor.

Presents, lots and lots of Presents...

Kelsey had received many presents prior to her birth thanks to three showers.  The first gift she received in person was very special as it came from her cousin Grace.  Grace wanted to deliver it to Kelsey in person, but she wasn't able to.  Here is Kelsey with her very first baby doll.

Thank you, Grace!

Cousins!!!

The first person to meet Kelsey when
she got home from the hospital.

Happy to have (finally-according to
Aunt Jenelle) a cousin.

Kelsey is lucky to have two wonderful first cousins.  Grace and Nathan have both been able to visit.  It's fun to see the difference between a 2 year-old and an almost 4 year-old when it comes to meeting someone new.  Both Grace and Nathan were excited to meet her in person, but Grace was definitely more hands on.

Grandma had to hold Kelsey because Nathan didn't want to, but he did pose for a couple of pictures (this was the best one) and was happy to stand back and look at "Miss Kelsey" as he calls her.

Bathtime Fun!!

Kelsey enjoyed her first bath (if enjoying includes screaming a little!)  Mom and Dad happily used all the lovely bath items they received at the baby shower, thanks everyone.

First Doctor Visit

Just a couple days after leaving the hospital, Kelsey went to the pediatrician.  She is doing wonderfully.  She had lost only one-half ounce since leaving the hospital (7lbs 2.5 oz.) and they don't need to see her until she is one week old.  At that appointment they will give her a second PKU screening (prick her foot to test her blood).  Daddy felt that waiting for the doctor was a wonderful time for a photo shoot.

Aunts and Uncles

Aunt Melissa and Uncle Shawn were able to make the trip up to Odenton (Melissa's third in 4 weeks) and they brought Cousin Nathan.

There are two pics of Aunt Melissa because she's been up to visit twice!

Surprise!!

So, when Uncle Chad, Aunt Jenelle, and Cousin Grace moved to Florida last July they were sad when they learned they would not be able to be at the hospital when our baby was born.  They scheduled a trip back to Odenton in mid-February so they would not miss meeting baby if Mommy didn't give birth on time.  You'll belive me when I say I was a bit surprised when there was a knock on the hospital door late Friday night and SUPRISE...
.

When they learned earlier in the week that Mommy was scheduled for a delivery, they went searching for cheap airfare and found it.  Thanks guys for a wonderful surprise!  Unfortunately, Cousin Grace was not able to visit Kelsey in the hospital (she was too young--nothing a Lion King moment couldn't fix). Grace got her time to hold Kelsey on Sunday (pics to follow).
